UBC’s sustainability efforts, experiments and accomplishments can be seen in every corner of our Vancouver campus. A new publication, "Sustainability Walk: A walking tour of UBC," takes visitors on a 90-minute self-guided tour of some of the highlights.
From the sustainability features we incorporate in our buildings to the sustainability information we share through courses and research, the University aims to inspire our community of 50,000 students, faculty and staff to make sustainability part of their daily lives. Many of our ideas for sustainable learning, working and living were conceived—and are reflected—in the buildings on campus. The walking tour includes stops at seven green buildings. You are encouraged to take a peek inside those buildings during regular office hours, but to do so quietly—the UBC community is hard at work!
Copies of "Sustainability Walk" are available at the Welcome Centre in Brock Hall and at the Centre for Interactive Research on Sustainability (UBC Sustainability Initiative, second floor). Or download the walking tour map here.
