The Strategic Iniatives stream matches distinct needs of UBC, traditionally handled through an open-procurment process, with strategically significant research carried out on campus (Click here to see current Strategic Initiatives). To address specific challeneges that operating a small, innovative-city like UBC encounters, partnerships are sought with organisations that are able to demonstrate a distinct appetite for innovation that drives their own operational excellence. Because UBC operates essentially as a research-driven city, we are able to go beyond the normal constraints that hinder most projects, delivering research, development and demonstration opportunities all in one location.
