What does a Residence Sustainability Coordinator do?
Rez SCs commit 3 hours a week to:

Lead:

  1. organize fun events to engage students in social and ecological issues
  2. run creative educational campaigns in residence to promote concepts such as waste reduction, energy conservation, alternative transportation and responsible consumption

Inspire:

  1. act as resource to other students eager to jump on the sustainability bandwagon

Network:

  1. meet, work and play with an amazing team of committed individuals
  2. collaborate with other groups on campus to swap ideas, skills and inspiration

Learn:

  1. build skills in facilitation, public speaking, networking, event planning and coordination, critical thinking and “walking the talk” of sustainability

Create Change:

  1. develop creative alternatives and solutions to the status quo in residence

And of course….have fun!

Why join the team?

  • meet new friends who share your passions and interests
  • cultivate change in residence and on campus that will leave a lasting legacy
  • learn more about the most pressing issues facing our planet
  • gain experience and references that will open doors in the future
