This course is part of the UBC Future Global Leaders Pre-University Program for high school students ages 15-18, and is offered at UBC Vancouver. This program offers the option to stay in a UBC student residence during the program or commute daily.

Today’s engineers, no matter what specialty, need an understanding of sensor, microprocessor and robotic technologies. Based on UBC’s first-year engineering program, this course guides you through basic principles with a project designing and building robots and through in-class workshops and mini projects.

Who should take this course?
This course is ideal if you’re interested in engineering or computer science.

Your instructor
NOBORU (Nobo) YONEMITSU, PEng, PhD, is a senior Instructor in the UBC Department of Civil Engineering. He has more than 40 years of professional engineering and research experience in fluid mechanics, aerospace engineering, sensor development and environmental engineering. Nobo has been a part of UBC’s first-year engineering program development team for a number of years, and a recipient of multiple undergraduate teaching awards.
