UBC CLIMATE CHANGE RESEARCH SYMPOSIUM: OCTOBER 13 & 14, 2021

The UBC Climate Change Research Symposium will bring together, virtually, climate researchers from multiple faculties on our Vancouver and Okanagan campuses.

While UBC is a recognized leader in climate change research, there is limited connectivity between the clusters of relevant research activity across the many faculties on our campuses. This symposium, featuring panel discussions and keynote speakers,  will to help make those connections and enhance the potential of UBC researchers to impact climate change through research and innovation.

Join us on October 13 & 14. The symposium is primarily intended for the UBC research community, but all are welcome to attend. Registration is limited.

On December 5, 2019, the UBC Board of Governors endorsed UBC’s pronouncement of a climate emergency. For more information on UBC’s climate emergency engagement process, please visit: https://climateemergency.ubc.ca/.

Acknowledgments: The Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation would like to thank the Co-Chairs of the UBC Climate Change Research Symposium Steering Committee, Dr. Sally Aitkin and Dr. Mark MacLachlan, and the members of the Steering Committee, for their scientific and strategic leadership throughout the planning of this event: Dr. Philip Ainslie, Dr. Phil Barker, Dr. Simon Donner, Dr. Walter Mérida, Dr. Gail Murphy, Dr. Rashid Sumaila, Dr. Adam Wei, Dr. Kate Weinberger, Dr. Rachel White, and Dr. Stepan Wood.
