Sustainability Education Fellowships support UBC Vancouver faculty who are leading the development of new sustainability-focused courses or programs, or making significant enhancements to existing ones. Each fellowship provides up to $20,000 in funding over two years, aimed at expanding and enriching sustainability education opportunities for students across all disciplines. The curriculum projects must be centred on transformative learning, integrating experiential, applied, and interdisciplinary approaches to sustainability education. The Sustainability Education Fellows program also functions as a cohort or community of practice, and participants meet monthly to exchange ideas, share progress, and collaborate on advancing sustainability teaching and learning at UBC. Run by the Sustainability Hub since 2010, this program fosters a vibrant community of educators committed to innovation in sustainability education. The next call for applications opens January 5, 2026, and closes February 16, 2026. Funding decisions will be announced by mid-March 2026, and selected projects will run from April 2026 to March 2028. An information session will be held on November 26, 2025, at 12:00 PM. Details on how to register can be found below. To receive updates about the program, please contact Oliver Lane at Oliver.Lane@ubc.ca.
