Wed, December 11, 2019 9:30 AM - 10:45 AM UBC Vancouver Campus. FREE. In the past year, there has been increasing and widespread momentum at UBC around the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), to foster change and engage the community on common global issues. Understanding, acknowledgement and integration of the framework in our learning and teaching objectives will further support our students toward actualization of the goals.

Recognizing the importance of institutional and national level support for the successful implementation of the goals, the Government of Canada recently launched a consultation process to inform the creation of Canada’s forthcoming National Strategy on SDG Implementation. Four key areas needing immediate attention were identified in the consultation primarily by the Canadian youth. Using the National Strategy as a springboard to discuss approaches for implementation of SDGs, this workshop will facilitate discussions on the challenges, needs, and integration of the goals at the course level.
