Thursday, December 12, 2019 - 14:45

Thu, December 12, 2019 2:45 PM - 4:00 PM UBC Vancouver Campus. FREE. Global heating, biodiversity loss, food and water inequality, and upheavals in economic and social systems demand that we re-think how we teach at universities and how we can better prepare students for a rapidly unfolding future characterized by change and uncertainty. In this session, you will learn how faculty are working across the disciplines to develop, design, and deliver innovative interdisciplinary courses on pressing social, cultural, and environmental issues.

Through discussion, participants will:

- Learn about various approaches for working across disciplinary contexts
- Begin to consider pedagogies and interdisciplinary approaches to enhance students’ learning around sustainability
- Learn about USI’s curriculum grant program

Facilitator:

Jean Marcus Director, USI Teaching, Learning & Student Engagement
