COP26 has been described as “the world's best last chance” to tackle the climate crisis.

The UBC Sustainability Initiative, Sierra Club BC, and West Coast Environmental Law are proud to present ‘What’s at Stake?’ A deep dive into the world of the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26) – three days before events kick off in Glasgow.

Join us to hear how climate negotiations really work from the people who’ve been there before, and find out what is at stake for communities in BC, Canada, and across the world. Our panel of political, scientific, and legal experts will describe what they hope to see from COP26, and what will happen if it fails to deliver.

October 27, 6pm - 7.30pm. Live webinar followed by audience Q&A, featuring:

ELIZABETH MAY (Green Party of Canada) 1.5 to stay alive.
ANJALI APPADURAI (Sierra Club BC) Burden-sharing, Equity & Climate Justice at COP
RACHEL WHITE (University of British Columbia) 1.5 vs. 2.0 - How and why does this matter?
