The Student Sustainability Council provides feedback to USI and affiliated groups on sustainability-related issues and concerns, and presents an opportunity for student leaders to have a voice on university and campus projects.

In previous years, the council has attracted a diverse range of student leaders to create a space for inclusive discussions and meaningful student engagement on sustainability projects, programs, and initiatives. The council also provides a space for student groups to connect and collaborate with others to enrich their own initiatives.

With more than 70 sustainability student-led groups and organizations at UBC, we’d like to extend an invitation to your group to select a representative to join the Council for the upcoming 2022-23 academic year. Meetings will take place the last Thursday of the month with the first meeting taking place September 29. The group representative needs to commit to the following dates and times:

  • September 29, 12-1:30pm
  • October 27, 12-1:30pm
  • November 24, 12-1:30pm
  • January 26, 12-1:30pm
  • February 23, 12-1:30pm
  • March 30, 12-1:30pm

Applications are due Sunday, September 19, 2022. Each group is limited to one seat on the Council but the role and attendance at the meetings can be shared between two reps.
